The benefits of cursive writing....
" What is cursive writing?" It is rare to find this question, more especially in South Africa because they no longer see the significance of cursive writing.
Cursive writing is a style of joined up handwriting, in which the letters are connected to help you write faster. One of the reasons people write in cursive, it's because it's faster than a normal handwriting, because the cursive letters are connected you lift your pen less frequently, which cut down on time spent forming the letters. Beauty and speed? It's a win win.
When you look at cursive writing, you won't see anything easy, because the letters have many different styles. That's me at first I saw cursive as the most difficult handwriting up until I tried it. I got influenced to cursive writing at school this year, I had no choice I had to do it and I hated it because it looked difficult. I tried it, yes at first it is difficult because you'll feel pain in your hands, your posture changes even the way you hold your pen changes. I told myself that in order for my drawing skills to improve I have to do it willingly.
Not only cursive writing is good for speed and drawing, but it is also shown to improve brain development in the areas of thinking, language and working memory.
I know cursive writing may seem to be difficult, but if you practice it willingly, it will be easy. If I was able to write in cursive what about you? Nothing is impossible in this world we live in today.
Fascinating to see you improve keep growing
