The significance of color in the world of art.
Color helps to express light not the physical phenomenon, but the only light that really exists that's in the artist brain.
Color has many definitions, but as am artist I define color as one of the elements of art that brings light and life in a design, because it is the one that tells us the mood and emotions conveyed Ina design. However some may define color as an elements of art that is produced when light striking an object reflected back to the eye.
Artists use color to communicate to the design and the viewer and to convey emotions of the design.
In addition, artists especially painters use their knowledge of color to portray mood, light, depth and point view in a work of art.
Color can away thinking, transform actions and cause reactions. It can irritate or smooth your eyes, raise your blood pressure or supress your appitite, hence when you're chosing color for your design must go together with mood and emotions portrayed.
Color is the most most powerful form of communication and is irreplaceable. Every small dose of color that contrasts with your main color will draw attention and give emphasis. Art without color would lose much of purpose.
