The significance of color in the world of art.

Image
Color helps to express light not the physical phenomenon, but the only light that really exists that's in the artist brain. Color has many definitions, but as am artist I define color as one of the elements of art that brings light and life in a design, because it is the one that tells us the mood and emotions conveyed Ina design. However some may define color as an elements of art that is produced when light striking an object reflected back to the eye.  Artists use color to communicate to the design and the viewer and to convey emotions of the design. In addition, artists especially painters use their knowledge of color to portray mood, light, depth and point view in a work of art. Color can away thinking, transform actions and cause reactions. It can irritate or smooth your eyes, raise your blood pressure or supress your appitite, hence when you're chosing color for your design must go together with mood and emotions portrayed.  Color is the most most powerful form o...

Multiple intelligence.

"Everybody is a genius, but if you judge a fish by it's ability to climb a tree it will live it's whole life believing that it is stupid" wise words by Harward Gardner. Multiple intelligence is a theory that describes the different ways a student learn and acquire information. It was discovered by Harward Gardner. He believed that anything is worth teaching can be presented in many different ways. These multiple ways can make use of our intelligences. When we all hear the word intelligence we think of IQ testing. I define intelligence as the power of knowing the ability to understand and or deal with new situation. I believe that it is something we are born with and a capacity that is difficult to manipulate. However, inorder to capture the full range of abilities and talent's that people posses, Gardner's theorizes that people do not have just an intellectual, including musical, interpersonal, spacial visual, linguistics intelligence, etc. Gardner's the...

The benefits of cursive writing....

Image
" What is cursive writing?" It is rare to find this question, more especially in South Africa because they no longer see the significance of cursive writing. Cursive writing is a style of joined up handwriting, in which the letters are connected to help you write faster. One of the reasons people write in cursive, it's because it's faster than a normal handwriting, because the cursive letters are connected you lift your pen less frequently, which cut down on time spent forming the letters. Beauty and speed? It's a win win. When you look at cursive writing, you won't see anything easy, because the letters have many different styles. That's me at first I saw cursive as the most difficult handwriting up until I tried it. I got influenced to cursive writing at school this year, I had no choice I had to do it and I hated it because it looked difficult. I tried it, yes at first it is difficult because you'll feel pain in your hands, your posture changes ev...

Shhhhh.... Is this a fantasy?

Image
Dreams are stories and images that our minds create while we sleep. They are enduring source of mystery for scientist and psychological docters. Dreaming can help you learn and develop long term memories. For example during exam time students may dream about course content. People in a relationship may dream of their partners. Web developers may see programming code . I'm Ntokozo, I am here to tell you my dream. I recall a night, I was inside a big nice black car "Range Rover" . I was sitting at the back with people surrounding me, calling my name, " Ntokozo, Ntokozo, Ntokozo 🗣️🗣️" but it's funny because I don't see them, and that worries me a lot. They are busy asking for autographs but I don't see them.  All of a sudden, that fantasy fades away. Silence is what am hearing, this diva and a star disappears. I felt lonely and void inside of me. I'm no longer inside a car, I'm in a bush, surrounded by many people again this time I can see t...

My love for drawing

Image
"Drawing is not what one sees, but what one can make others see" by  Edgar Degas. I never dreamt or imagined myself drawing one-day, but NEMISA gave me a whole new perspective about drawing.   It   unlocked this creative mind that's was locked for many many years. It made me think out of the box, to be creative and Artistic. I remember on our interview for Interactive Media, we wrote an assessment tasks, to test us whether we qualify or not for this course, and in mind, I'm only thinking about computers, basics of building a website, not drawing. It felt like a  nightmare. I wanted to quit but then I also thought that I wouldn't be here if I didn't qaulify for this course. Yes I don't know how to draw but that doesn't mean I won't learn. On the first day of the boot camp, we were told that we are going to have many drawing sessions, and I told myself that I will leave this place as an artist who does not give up easily. One thing unique about me, I...
